Thomas Burch, M.D.

Hi my name is Thomas (Tommy) Burch. Thank you for visiting our site! I am a board certified adult and pediatric anesthesiologist and a board certified echocardiographer. I performed an anesthesiology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), a cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at Wake Forest and a pediatric cardiac fellowship at Children's Hospital Boston. I have experience doing complicated adult and pediatric anesthesia and I keep current in every fantastic anesthesia subspecialty. I have performed adult and pediatric cardiothoracic anesthesiology at 5 major medical centers. I have worked in a variety of cardiac operating rooms including several major academic centers, a veteran's administration hospital, private practice hospitals, and a major academic pediatric cardiac center. I have won the teacher of the year award 4 times at 3 different academic medical centers, and I know how to teach. I was an Oral Board Examiner from 2009-2014 and I have helped hundreds prepare for the oral boards. I also teach echocardiography and have a board review website for the echo boards www.PTEmasters.com which has helped thousands pass the echocardiography boards. I have lectured at many local and national meetings (Society of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology, Harvard Review Course) and I have helped many private practice physicians, residents and fellows with difficult patients and complex cases. I am very proud of my involvement with this website and I hope you find it useful. Please feel free to send me your comments, suggestions and constructive criticism: tommy@anesthesiamasters.com
